Friday morning we woke up, thinking about all the things we needed to get done over the weekend, but noticing how gorgeous it was outside. So, for the first time in years, I successfully convinced Brent to skip work. We spent the day in Berkeley doing a few of our favorite things: visiting Tilden park (for the kids), eating deep dish pizza at
Zackary's (for Brent), and shopping architectural salvage at
Ohmega (for Amber). We ended up watching a movie at the theater, which made it feel like a truly frivolous day. On the way back we dropped in on Grandma and Grandpa Fawson, who treated us to a good meal and good conversation.

Hooray! This weekend Uncle Kyle qualified for NCAA nationals by running a 5k in 13:54 (that's less than a 4:30 mile--whaaaaaat? Click
here for a thrilling description of the race, 6th paragraph down).
We also found out one of Amber's friends from grade school got baptized in Boise (congratulations, Lori!) and we got to see one of our young friends get baptized here (congratulations, Ben!). All this good news from friends and family really made the weekend.
That Ohmega link is fantastic. How cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the congratulations. My baptism and confirmation were amazing! It was a fantastic weekend.
