Danny is 7

Danny, you are really starting to look and act like the big brother. We still can't believe your over four, you are our sunshine and still our sweet little boy, but lately you have been taking such good care of Reid, and offering such great family prayers and becoming more helpful, we are starting to believe that you really are growing up. Even on your birthday, you offered Reid your oatmeal because it was ready first, and offered Kate the best seat in the van. You can be quite the gentleman and we are so proud.

Danny's birthday was great fun. It started with penguin treats for his Lego club the day before, then the party continued the next day. Brent had a stroke of pure genius and bought Danny a magic kit. After school we had to convince Danny that he wanted to go see the Lorax with us on opening day (Danny shares a birthday with a certain Dr. Seuss) instead of just going straight home to his magic set. Eventually, however, he did get home to his magic tricks and his birthday dinner of choice, shrimp, chicken, crab, and new spagetti. We kept him in the kitchen just long enough to eat and then he was off to hide away in his room and study his tricks and magic DVDs. I'm happy to tell you he is becoming quite pro now at waving his hands and snapping his fingers, and occasionally pulling off an impressive trick.
