This year at Christmas time the kids got quite the treat--they got to see every one of their uncles, aunts, and cousins. We started with an early Christmas with the Fawsons. We had a Christmas dinner here at our place. Kate helped me clip pine boughs to make a centerpiece and we went out to buy a 25-lb bag of the famous placer mandarins so we'd be set. We had a great night. Complete with Christmas stories, a puppet show of the first Christmas, and wish-bone breaking, all thanks to Grandma.

And what better way to celebrate Christmas than to...tour prison? We actually had a fun day in San Francisco the next day, seeing Alcatraz for the first time. Kate took the audio tour very seriously, following each direction with careful precision. The way we had Alcatraz life explained to us...Andrea and I were ready to move in. Meals and laundry are done for you, and you spend your days playing checkers, painting, and checking out books from the prison library.

We're thinking of adopting the Alcatraz regulations for our own household.

I'm hoping to get up posts from our Boise Christmas + New Years soon.
Love that first pic of Danny!! glad you had a good time!!
