Our Seamstress

Last Saturday Kate and her cute little friends from her sewing class got to model their home-sewn projects in a fashion show.

The show was put on by a mom and 2-daughter team who own a local vintage fabric shop. They and their adult students modeled right alongside the girls. The girls were so cute and excited and nervous.

Kate modeled a matching nightgown set for her and her doll (meet Julie) and was smiling and composed and careful not to walk too fast, though I could tell she had butterflies. We were so proud.

We love Kate's teacher. She gets a houseful of chatty giggly little girls a few times a week, and jumps right in with them and somehow manages to keep them each moving on their projects at once.

Kate was over the moon that she got to invite up Ella and Nellie (Ella's American Girl Doll) to be part of the big day. The girls were so cute together.

We had the most serendipitous moment afterwards. We wandered over to a flea market next to our parked car, where everyone thought our two girls with their two dolls were adorable. We met Amanda, the little girl who lived next door and, it so happened, runs her own doll shop with clothes her cousin sews. We took Nellie and Julie shopping and bought them matching purses. Too cute. Thanks for making our day special, Ella and Nellie.
