Grandma Jackpot

Last Tuesday we got to see 3 grandmas in one day. How wonderful is that? We did it on our way down to stay with my grandparents in San Jose. And as if that weren't enough, we also fit in two park days in as many days: our own park day and the Campbell Ward park day, which was the original park day for us, where Kate and I went until we moved from San Jose when Kate was 8 months old. It was so wonderful to see our friends again. We ended up spending over 5 hours at the park (you have to understand that Campbell moms know how to do a park day).

We got to see Grandma Fawson and
Great Grandma Fawson (below) in Fairfield.

Tusday park day at the Folsom Zoo before taking off
for violin, Fairfield, and then San Jose. Phew.

Sophie and Kate at the Campbell park day on Wed.

Kate and Danny were so excited to do their ritual with great Grandpa, which is driving around the neighborhood in his golf cart. It was something Grandpa did with me and my siblings as kids. Danny woke up Thurs. morning talking about it before he was fully conscious. This was the last one though. Grandpa felt it was finally time to give up his golf club membership, and so sold his golf cart to a friend. But he told his friend he couldn't have the cart until Grandpa had a chance to take his great grandkids on one last ride.

Grandpa and Grandma Barthule have the most fantastic view from their deck of Grandma's rock garden and of San Jose beyond. It's a great place for talking about life and watching the leisurely flow of airplanes into the San Jose airport.

  1. Grandma is the cutest! I was so happy to be able to see her a few times while I was in Utah. She cracks me up!

  3. What a wonderful thing for Kate and Danny. As Dad has said, it's so neat that they have so many family members that love them and let them know how special they are. We love you!!
