We got our Tia Christina all to ourselves for a few days. She came on a whim from Venezuela to enjoy family (we talked about this, "La vida es ahora," she told me), and after our Disneyland trip, she hung with us in Loomis for a bit. She is a retired professor, totally hilarious, a fantastic cook, and otherwise the best person to hang out with. It was so great to talk (she was very patient with my Spanish) and tour around and cook. She loves IKEA, San Francisco, and Crate & Barrel, so if you can't guess she is totally my kind of woman. It was a really cool experience for me to get to hear more about my grandmother, who I knew only when I was young, and hear about my dad's early years. Plus, she spoiled us everywhere we went, buying us Gherridelli hot chocolate in SanFrancisco, goodies at IKEA and so much more.

if you haven't been to the aquarium at fisherman's warf, it's a must-see, we loved it
Danny was enthralled with the magic store, and Christina bought him his first magic trick
It was a gorgeous day in the city, and other than having to take a cab to barely make it back to the parking lot before it closed for the night, we did pretty good. Truly it was an amazing day.
